This Terms and Conditions apply to consumer prepaid customers only.

The Vodafone PayDay (Promotion) promotion starts on 30th March 2018 at 00:00:01 GMT and ends on 28th June 2018 at 23:59:59 GMT. The Promotion is organized by Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (operating under the brand name Vodafone Ghana, and hereinafter referred to as “Vodafone”).

Acceptance of Terms of Use

The following provisions define the terms and conditions (‘Terms and Conditions’) governing the Promotion. By accessing and using the mechanics and prizes provided in this Promotion, the Customer shall be deemed to have consented and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and be bound accordingly.

Promo Features

There are two stages of the Promotion.

Stage 1: Perform network activity to accrue points

Stage 2: Redeem accrued points / Win network rewards and or cash prizes

Promo duration: 90 days.

Tariff: No special tariff applies.

Subscription: No subscription fee applies.


Eligibility for Participation in Vodafone PayDay

The following persons are eligible to participate in 2 stages of the Promotion:

All Vodafone prepaid subscribers by default are eligible for the Promotion.

Vodafone employees and their immediate families (including spouses, parents, children, and siblings) are NOT eligible to claim prizes in this stage of the Promotion.

All individuals professionally connected with Vodafone (including contractors, and owners and employees of registered vendors of Vodafone) are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.

All Customers must have properly registered SIM cards to claim prizes at this stage of the Promotion.

Vodafone reserves the right to disqualify any Customer if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the Customer has breached any provision of these Terms and Conditions.


How to Participate and Win

Perform mobile activity on the network to gain points:

To participate in the Promotion, the Customer must perform an activity on the network. Customers will accrue points for performing specific activities detailed in the table below:

Points accumulated for activities performed will be updated after every 24 hours.

For airtime recharge, SMS, Data PAYG/ Bundle purchase, a minimum amount of 10 pesewas will attract 1 point.

Points will be accrued for bundle purchases but not bundle usage.

Eligible transactions for Vodafone Cash are; Top-ups, bill payments, purchases & money transfer (sending money & P2P). Every successful transaction attracts 2 points.

Points are only accumulated by the Customer who is initiating the transaction and not the receiver.

A customer who purchases a data bundle via Vodafone Cash will receive points for performing two activities, the first being the Vodafone cash transaction and the second being a bundle purchase.


New SIM activation is defined as buying a new Vodafone SIM card (Vodafone X or regular SIM), registering it and activating the SIM via phone or other mobile devices. This activity attracts 5 points.

Reconnected SIM refers to any prepaid SIM that is reactivating on the network after 60 days of inactivity. Performing this activity attracts 5 points.

Voice activity refers to any of the following activities; Vodafone to Vodafone calls, Vodafone calls to other networks, IDD calls, and Roaming calls.

Bundle purchase shall refer to any of the following; Roaming bundles, IDD bundles and all integrated bundles.


Point Multiplier

Customers will be assigned daily spend targets (dial *559# to check targets). Additional points accumulated after hitting the daily target will be multiplied by 10. Therefore, total points accumulated for the day will be initial points before hitting the target; in addition to the extra points which has been multiplied by 10.

For example: Assuming customer A has a target of GHs 2.00. If the customer spends anything above GHs 2.00 say GHs 2.50, his additional GHs 0.50 spend will attract points multiplied by 10.

Points accrual for Customers on monthly bundles:

This point multiplier effect will only apply to prepaid customers on monthly bundles.

Customer’s points will be multiplied by 10 when they go out of bundle or when they buy additional bundles. Additional bundles could be Integrated bundles, Data bundles, IDD bundles and Roaming Bundles.


Point Redemption

Customers may at any point in time during the Promotion redeem points accumulated for voice minutes (for Vodafone to Vodafone lines and or Vodafone to other networks), SMS and Data. The table below shows the network rewards that points can be redeemed for.

Customers may redeem via USSD code *559#.

Customers can select the reward they want and based on the conversion table above, receive a volume of reward equal to the points they would like to redeem.

All network-based rewards redeemed are valid for 3 days.

Points redeemed will be deducted from total points balance and cannot be reused in any other way in the course of the Promotion.

Vodafone reserves the rights to extend the deadline for points not redeemed before the end date of the Promotion.              



Points accumulated by Customers will be updated after every 24 hours. Prizes will be given on hourly, daily, weekly and monthly basis.

At the end of the Promotion, the Customer who accumulated the most points in the course of the Promotion will be awarded a grand prize.

At the end of the Promotion, prizes will be awarded to the Customer with the highest points in the Northern sector and in the Southern sector. Northern sector is defined as the Ashanti, Brong- Ahafo, Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions. Southern sector is defined as Greater Accra, Central, Volta, Eastern and Western regions.

A Customer’s Region is based on their home location. Home location is defined as where a customer is connected most to the network


Hourly Prizes

At the end of every hour, the first 5 customers with the highest accumulated points will be rewarded with GHs 10.00 (ten Ghana Cedis only) each.

Customers can only win one hourly reward within the same week.

Customers who win hourly prizes are still eligible for daily, weekly and monthly prizes as well as the regional grand prize and the grand prize.


Daily Prizes

At the end of each day, the first 3 customers with the highest accumulated points in the past 24 hours will be rewarded with GHS 500.00 (Five hundred Ghana Cedis only) each.

Customers can win a maximum of 1 daily prize in a week.

Customers who win daily prizes are still eligible for subsequent hourly, weekly and monthly prizes as well as the regional grand prize and the grand prize.


Weekly Prizes

At the end of each week, the customer with the highest accumulated points in the past 7 days will be rewarded with GHs 5,000.00 (Five thousand Ghana Cedis only).

A customer can only win a weekly prize once in any particular month

For the purpose of this Promotion, a week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday.

Customers who win weekly prizes are still eligible for subsequent hourly, weekly and monthly prizes as well as the regional grand prize and the grand prize.


Monthly Prizes

At the end of each month, the Customer with the highest accumulated points in the past 30 days will be rewarded with GHs 25,000.00 (Twenty-five thousand Ghana Cedis only).

A Customer can only win one monthly prize within the duration of the Promotion.

Customers who win a monthly prize are still eligible for subsequent hourly, daily and weekly prizes as well as the regional grand prize and the grand prize.


Regional Grand Prize

A Customer each from the Northern and Southern sector will be rewarded at the end of the Promotion.

The 2 winners will be the Customers with the highest points accumulated in their respective Regions for the duration of the entire Promotion with the exception of the grand prize winner

A customer who wins an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly prize is still eligible for the regional grand prize.

In the case where the same Customer wins both the regional grand prize and the grand prize, he will be given the grand prize and will forfeit the regional grand prize. In this scenario, the forfeited regional prize will be given to the Customer with the second highest point accumulated in that specific region.


Grand Prize

At the end of the Promotion, the Customer with the highest accumulated points over the 120-day period will be rewarded with GHs 200,000.00 (Two hundred thousand Ghana Cedis).

Customers who win hourly, weekly and monthly prizes are still eligible for the grand prize.


In case of a tie for any of the prizes, the customer with the higher tenure takes the prize. If it ties at the tenure level, the Customer with the highest average revenue per user (ARPU) for the past three months prior to the Promotion takes the prize.


General Terms for Prizes:

Prizes will only be awarded to the person in whose name the SIM card is registered.

For Customers who want to delegate someone else to receive their prizes or rewards, the delegated person will have to present an authority note together with a copy of a valid Identity document of himself and the winner to be able to receive the reward or prize.

All cash prizes below GHs 25,000.00 (Twenty-five thousand Ghana Cedis) will be deposited into the Vodafone cash account of Customers.

For all cash prizes above GHs 25,000.00 (Twenty-five thousand Ghana Cedis), Vodafone Ghana reserves the right to choose whether to pay the amount into a bank account provided by the winner or write out a cheque to the Customer.

Should Vodafone decide to pay the reward or cash prize into a bank account, Customers will have a maximum of 30 days to present the bank details where they would like their cash prizes to be deposited.

Customers who have not registered for Vodafone Cash will have to register and activate their accounts after which their prizes will be deposited into their Vodafone Cash accounts.

If a customer does not register on Vodafone cash after 30 days, Vodafone reserves the right to decide what to do with the cash prize.

Winners of cash prizes will be notified by Vodafone once their prizes are activated. The winners shall sign all consent documents and provide identity documents required by Vodafone before prizes are actually handed over.

Vodafone shall not be responsible for the process of Customers converting their electronic money into physical cash or exchanging it for goods and services.


Limitation of liability

Vodafone accepts no responsibility whatsoever for and without limitation, any error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure when it is not under its direct control.

Vodafone reserves the right to suspend the campaign temporarily or permanently for legal, regulatory and for operational reasons (e.g. for repairs, planned maintenance or upgrades) whenever it is deemed necessary. Vodafone undertakes where possible to restore the campaign as soon as practicable after any temporary suspension period. Vodafone shall not be liable for any claims, losses or injuries whatsoever the Customer may suffer as a result any such suspension.


Disclaimer of Warranties

Vodafone makes no warranty, implied or express, that any part of the promotion will be uninterrupted and error-free. 

Neither Vodafone nor any of its directors, employees, agents or suppliers shall accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any Customer for participating in the promotion or as a result of accepting any prize. 

Vodafone shall not be responsible for any technical malfunction of any telephone or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Customers’ or any other person's computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials on the promotion.

By entering the promotion, Customers agree that no claim relating to such losses or injuries (including special, indirect and consequential losses) shall be asserted or made against Vodafone, its parent companies, affiliates, directors, officers, employees or agents from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind resulting from acceptance or user of any prize, including without limitation, personal injuries, death and property damage.


Data protection and Publicity

By participating in the promotion, the winners agree that any of their data, including names, names, photos and video images, may be used by Vodafone for advertising, demonstration or marketing purposes with no prior consent of the winner and at no charge to Vodafone.

Customers agree that if they win a prize their names and phone number will be published for informational purposes only.

Vodafone as a Data Controller may disclose Customers’ data to its contractors or agents (data processors) in line with the Data Protection Act, 2010 (Act 843) to assist in conducting this promotion or any future promotions.



Vodafone reserves the right to terminate, suspend, cancel or amend the promotion and these Terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted online and shall be binding on a Customer.

In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation of the Terms and Conditions, conduct, results, and all other matters relating to the promotion, the decision of Vodafone shall be final and without appeal.

These Terms and Conditions will remain in full force and effect while the promotion lasts (not taking into account temporary suspensions of the offer for operational reasons, e.g. for repairs, planned maintenance or upgrades).

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
