Free Uber Promo


Uber Promotion (hereinafter referred to as the “Promotion”) is a collaboration between Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (trading as Vodafone Ghana, and hereinafter referred to as “Vodafone”) and Uber BV to give a GHS15 reward to selected customers from December 22, 2017 and February 28, 2017.

The Vodafone Customers who participate in the Promotion warrant that they have carefully read and fully understood these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions are subject to Vodafone Ghana’s general Terms and Conditions. By accessing the Promotion, the Customer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.



The Promotion is available to selected Vodafone Enterprise Mobile, Vodafone Black and Vodafone Red Mobile customers. Vodafone reserves the right to determine the eligibility/selection criteria of the Customers to benefit.

For the selected Customer to benefit under the Promotion, the Customer be a first time user of Uber Ride.

A customer must download and install the Uber App and register on the application as a subscriber to be able to redeem this Promotion.

The Promotion pays GHS15 of the fare of the Customer for the first Uber Ride only. The reward can be used to pay for a group Uber Ride.

The reward can be redeemed on an Uber Ride anywhere within the Ghana.

In the event that the fare of the Customer below GHS15, the Customer shall forfeit the use of the remainder. No refund shall be made in such a situation.

Where the fare exceeds the GHS15 reward, the Customer shall pay the difference between the amount payable and the GHS 15 reward.


Promotion Mechanics

To enter a promo code on the new Uber app

Before inputting your destination, Go to the main menu of the Uber App.

Click on ‘Payment’

At the ‘Promotions’ section, click on ‘Add Promo/Gift Code’

Type the code (it is not case-sensitive) received from Vodafone. The promotional code must be entered before requesting the first ride.

Choose your destination.

The Promotion will automatically apply when you confirm and take the trip.

Limitation of liability

Vodafone accepts no responsibility whatsoever for and without limitation, any error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure when it is not under its direct control.

Vodafone shall make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that the reward promoted as being available to customers will actually be available as represented. However, Vodafone does not guarantee or warrant that such benefits shall always be available. Vodafone advises customers to check availability of the desired benefits prior to redemption of the said benefits.

If for any reason any aspect of this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of Vodafone which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this offer, Vodafone may in its sole discretion modify or suspend the Promotion. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of Vodafone and which prevents Vodafone from complying with these Terms and Conditions, Vodafone will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.

Vodafone reserves the right to suspend the Promotion temporarily or permanently for legal, regulatory and for operational reasons (e.g. for repairs, planned maintenance or upgrades) whenever it is deemed necessary. Vodafone undertakes where possible to restore the Promotion as soon as practicable after any temporary suspension period. Vodafone shall not be liable for any claims, losses or injuries whatsoever the Customer may suffer as a result any such suspension.


Disclaimer of Warranties

Vodafone makes no warranty, implied or express, that any part of the Promotion will be uninterrupted and error-free. 

Vodafone’s sponsorship and responsibility is limited to the GHC15 fare. Vodafone does not in any way give any guarantee whatsoever as to the quality, duration, convenience and general comfortability of the ride and does not accept any liability, either expressed or implied as to the Customers’ experience while on the ride with Uber. 

A Customer takes the Uber Ride entirely at his own risk and in no event shall Vodafone be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages including without limitation to loss of income, data or other information as a result of the use of or inability to use the Service. 

The Customer hereby releases and holds Vodafone and any of its directors, employees, agents or suppliers harmless from any and all liability, injury, loss or damage of any kind, so far as it is permitted by law, arising from your (or our agents) participation or your acceptance of use or use of this service. 



A Customer's participation in the Promotion constitutes the member's acceptance of any changes to these Terms and Conditions. Customers are responsible for remaining knowledgeable as to any changes that Vodafone may make to these Terms and Conditions. Vodafone will endeavour to make available the Terms and Conditions and any changes thereto on the Vodafone website – .

If Vodafone or any Partner improperly denies a Customer the reward that the Customers  ought to have earned under the Promotion, the Customer 's exclusive remedy shall be the issuance of the improperly denied reward by Vodafone, if available, or such other reasonable, alternative and comparable reward as determined by Vodafone. In the event of any of the aforementioned improper denials, the liability of Vodafone shall be limited to the value of the reward concerned.

Participants are liable for any claims from third parties, including the tax authorities, arising from participation in this Promotion.

Personal data relating to participants in this promotion that may be processed and used for purposes of the Promotion shall be in accordance with applicable Data Protection Law.

Vodafone reserves the right to terminate, suspend, cancel or amend the offer and these Terms and Conditions, reward structure, participation of any Vodafone Customer in the Promotion at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Vodafone website and other online platforms and shall be binding on a Customer. Vodafone will use all endeavours to minimise any effect on the consumer in order to avoid disappointment.

In the event of dispute regarding the interpretation of the Terms and Conditions, conduct and all other matters relating to the Promotion the decision of Vodafone shall be final and without appeal.

These Terms and Conditions will remain in full force and effect while the Promotion lasts (not taking into account temporary suspensions of the Promotion for operational reasons, e.g. for repairs, planned maintenance or upgrades).

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana
